"Skynet is the last thing you have to worry about."
I don’t have to explain more about AI tools and their impacts to our current daily work, especially in the tech world. From intelligent personal assistants to chatbots and autonomous vehicles, the tools are already transforming various industries, including healthcare, finance, and transportation. You can easilly hear or read about it everywhere on the internet: “AI is the future”, “everyone can create web applications”, “your jobs are losing”, “AI workers are coming” … You could be crazing of hearing the terms “AI” all the time. But should we worry about it? The answer is “Yes”, … and also “No”.
Why “Yes”? Link to heading
“Automation” is not a new term, but “Automation with Intelligence” is new and growing up very fast recently. With the rise of “Automation with Intelligence,” AI tools are becoming more capable of performing tasks that were once solely done by humans. For example, AI-powered image processing tools can enhance digital images in a matter of seconds, eliminating the need for a human employee to perform the task. This shift in the labor market means that workers who perform low-level, simple, and repetitive tasks may find themselves replaced by AI tools. If you are doing something that 80% of the labour force could do, you should worry for your future.
Why “No”? Link to heading
Throughout history, industrial revolutions have resulted in the disappearance of some jobs while creating new and more exciting ones. With the rise of AI tools in the workplace, some jobs may become automated, but new jobs that require human skills, such as critical thinking and creativity, will emerge. Instead of seeing AI as a job-stealer, we can embrace it as an assistant, much like J.A.R.V.I.S. from the Iron Man movies. By strengthening our skills and working alongside AI, we can free ourselves from manual tasks and focus on improving our knowledge and providing high-quality outputs. With AI’s support, we can become the best versions of ourselves and thrive in the ever-changing job market. The key is to use our time wisely and invest in developing skills that are in high demand.

It’s essential to recognize both the benefits and the potential risks associated with the adoption of AI tools in the workplace. While AI tools can bring significant improvements to our daily work, it’s also essential to prepare ourselves for the potential impact it may have on the job market and develop new skills to remain relevant.
Brace yourself! The clock started counting down. Keep learning!
The tool unused lies lost in dust,
The sword unused turns dull with rust,
The path unused grows clogged with weed,
The crop untended goes to seed.
Skills unused will soon decay,
Talents wasted, fade away.I will work with a wish and I’ll work with a will,
And the task that life brings me I’ll gladly fulfil,
And unfolding new skills, many joys shall be mine.
Away dull rust! Let me shine!– Paul King
Keep calm and good things will come!
